Finally, to the end of the jewelry mountain.....Before and after guest room redo on a budget

Yes, this was the guest bedroom at my house.

One too many jewelry jars from Goodwill!!!
I have been weeding through jewelry bought in jewelry jars from Goodwill and getting rid of what I didn't want.  It has been exhausting to the point that I actually told my husband I didn't think I EVER wanted to see jewelry again.  We had cleaned it out, gone thru it, and sold it on Youtube in auctions and pop up showcases. The auctions would sometimes go 6 or 7 hours, and they were loads of fun.  However, then came all the paperwork, sorting, weighing, billing, packing, etc...  Trips to the post office were the final step in cleaning out this mess.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I did keep several baskets of jewelry for myself that I intend to clean and wear.  As we sorted through the jewelry, when Ken would look with the jeweler's loupe and say there was an "M," (MONET) I informed him it stood for MINE!  I love Monet jewelry.   I have a "few pieces" I have kept.

And, some other pieces.

But, I have redone the guest bedroom, sort of, and I thought I would share with you what I have done so far.  It is not done, and it was not a high budget redo.  LOL.

This room is now so relaxing in pink and grey. I even have a corner nook to listen to my Spanish Lessons tapes and CDs....(also from Goodwill!)

Moved bed to center of window.

My Spanish lesson corner

Cuckoo clock from Goodwill new in box under $10

Notice the milkglass dish of pearls on the night stand

Floor lamp was $6 at Goodwill

Murano art glass from thrift store!
The milkglass lamp was my Aunt Lois' and as soon as I get another table or shelf, I will use two of these beside the bed and move gray lamp to dresser. Dresser was $10 at Habitat for Humanity RESTORE.

We bought this very nice chair many, many year go for our first living room.  Footstool was from Goodwill!

Oh, and about that not seeing jewelry again.......i bought another jewelry jar yesterday!  Here is the video of the unjarring.
